 Welcome
We have had a wonderful start to our 2008-2009 school year and we look forward to working with all of our students and families to become the best people that we can be!
This year our school and our district have three academic goals to
- Improve students’ reading comprehension skills
- Improve students’ ability to edit their writing
- Improve students’ ability to solve math problems in a variety of ways
In addition to our strong academic focus, we have developed a RESPECT program to help students learn the skills they need to be responsible citizens in school, at home, and in our community. Each month we focus on a different behavior and we all work to demonstrate that behavior as we learn and grow together. In November we will concentrate on our ability to listen to others with respect and attention. In December we will focus on cooperating with and helping both adults and peers.
As always, at Nathan Hale School, we believe that school and home must work in partnership to ensure that all of our students are as successful as possible both academically and socially. We are especially grateful for the support and leadership of the PTO in bringing students, families and staff together throughout the school year. I encourage all families to meet your child’s teacher, read the information that they send home about the work being done in each classroom, and call me if you have any questions or worries.
