Description:
Students in fifth grade learned about Los Dias de Los Muertos (The Days of the Dead).
This is one of the most important celebrations in Mexico and is celebrated every November 1st and 2nd.
Calavera (skeleton) figures are used as decorations for this holiday.
The skeleton or skull is seen as a promise of coming back to visit loved ones, not as a symbol of death.
In honoring their loved ones, calaveras are dressed as life-like individuals, engaging in the daily activities of the living.
